Denver Cheat Sheet: Where to Eat, Drink & Not Get Altitude Sickness

If you’re new to Denver, welcome to 5,280 feet above sea level. The air is thinner, the drinks hit harder, and hydration is your best friend. Between ETHDenver sessions and side quests, here’s how to make the most of your time in the Mile High City.

Survival 101

  • Hydrate. Aggressively. Denver’s dry air + altitude = dehydration sneak attack. Electrolytes help.

  • Ease into the drinks. Alcohol hits differently here. Two drinks feel like four. Trust us.

  • Layer up: prepare for the weather cause it’s not summery

🍽 Where to Eat

  • Beckon: A Michelin-starred tasting-menu experience with seasonal Colorado ingredients. Must-try: 5-course chef’s tasting with wine pairings.

  • Wolf’s Tailor: Japanese-Italian fusion in a rustic-chic space. Known for wood-fired dishes and house-made koji.

  • Kiké’s Red Tacos : Cuisine: Mexican birria and according to the internet the highlight is their Queso tacos dipped in consomé.

  • Somebody People for our vegetarian and vegan friends

🍻 Where to Drink

🌲 If You Need Fresh Air

  • Red Rocks Park – Quick hike, insane views.

  • City Park – Chill spot to walk, think, and maybe touch some grass.

  • RiNo Art District – Street murals, coffee shops, and breweries.

We also put together a Google Maps list of the top-rated restaurants and bars we found, check it out.

Eat well, stay hydrated, and we’ll see you there!
